Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At St Mary’s, we are committed to providing an inclusive education where every child, regardless of their starting point, can develop a sense of belonging, thrive as an individual, and achieve their full potential.

We are passionate about recognising and celebrating each child for who they are. Our role is to minimise potential barriers and provide tailored opportunities that allow every pupil to succeed both academically and socially.

We work closely with families, staff, South Gloucestershire’s Inclusion Team, and our SEND Cluster to ensure that children registered with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive the support they need and deserve.

At St Mary’s, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do:

“This caring community recognises that to be fully inclusive, support must break down barriers so pupils flourish alongside peers.”

“Leaders create a culture where pupils and staff flourish together. Aspiration is promoted and seen in action.”
