Our Summer Term 5 Adventures
Wild Place Project
As part of our Discovery topic (ancient woodlands stone age - iron age) and Science topic (Animals including humans) we went on a fantastic day out to Wild Place. Although we got a little wet to start with, we all had a fantastic day and enjoyed talking to the keepers and using our knowledge we had learned.
Our Spring Term 4 Adventures
Our Spring Term 3 Adventures
Art crayon batik
The children found this method very strange. We used crayon and watercolour. They found it strange that they had to crumple up their work and then paint over it in water colour.
Dream catchers
We created dream catchers to start off our new topic in English about dreams.
Our Autumn Term 2 Adventures
First day back
We explored how rivers were formed. They worked in small groups and created a small example of a river. Then they took it outside and pored water into it to show how water moves along a river.
DT creation
In class we developed and design a pneumatic toy with the aim for it to be simple to play with. The children really enjoyed the activity and created some great designs.
Handball taster
The children enjoyed learning new skills including different ways of throwing the ball. They played some mini games against each other and picked up the rules very quickly.
DT Christmas crafts (Sewing)
The children all enjoyed designing and creating their Christmas decorations. A massive thank you to all of the parent helpers. The children learnt a range of stitches over the 3 weeks and then created their final design. Don't they look fantastic!
Our Autumn Term 1 Adventures
First day as Year 3
We worded on ordering numbers in ascending and descending orders. They worked in small groups and then worked as a class to order numbers up to 1000. This also worked on their communication and team work skills.
Science experiment
We explored a range of different materials to understand acceleration and deceleration. We tested a range of surfaces to see which required the most force and why.
Ding ding.... Music
Check out our fantastic music lessons! We have been exploring how to use the glockenspiels.
Blow Blow .... POP!
Over the term we have been exploring pneumatic toys (toys movement by air). See the fantastic models that they created!
WOW shell Jar...Treat!
What an amazing term! The children have focused on working hard as a team. They filled their shell jar and enjoyed their teddy, treat and film afternoon.
