On behalf of the year 2 staff and children of Year 2, we would like to extend a very warm welcome to our class page. We are very excited to welcome the class to Year 2 - a new term and a fresh start for us all.
We believe that working together is a fundamental part of our learning and "it's amazing what can be achieved when working together in the same direction".
As always, the door to our classroom is always open… 'We're all working together; that the secret'

Our Autumn Term Adventures
Bethlehem Bake Off
Wow what a show! They were all star bakers. The children performed the first live show with an audience in many years. They were fantastic and gave lots of smiles and laughter to the audience. The children acted, learnt their lines stage directions and sang beautifully. They even enjoyed their very special message from Paul Hollywood himself.
Fire brigade visit
As part of 'the Great fire of London (1666)' topic the children explored how the fire equipment has changed from 1666- present day. After a lesson of exploring how fires were put out in 1666, using grab hooks and leather buckets to carry water we then had a special visit from the fire brigade. The fire men talked through all of their safety equipment and the children explored what the fire brigade do. They also learnt about preventative methods and what to do in fire. They also enjoyed doing the STOP, DROP and ROLL.
Pneumatic toys
During the Kestrels DT lessons they designed and created pneumatic toys. They thought carefully about how their deigns could move by only air. Fantastic!!
How does our body work?
Discovery map reading
The children enjoyed exploring the maps to locate places and local areas on a map.
Forest school
Take a look through our pictures from forest school. The children have enjoyed exploring the school forest. There are a range of different activities they have done and enjoyed including art lessons and exploring the forest.
WOW Lesson Ship Shape and Bristol fashion
We explored the meaning of ship shape. The children created a range of styled boats and floated them in the puddles as an immersion activity. They explored the different styles of boats and analysed why some floated better than others. Some whizzed along the playground in the wind.
