Assistant Headteacher (Fixed term)

St Mary’s Church of England VA Primary School are seeking an inspirational Assistant Headteacher whose primary responsibility would be to lead our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage One (KS1) team. This role is perfect for an aspirational middle leader who is passionate about teaching and learning and deeply committed to ensuring that every child has the best start in life. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher to drive school improvement, ensuring that all children flourish both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities: • Class teaching responsibilities within the above phase • Leading Early Reading and Phonics across the school. • Support the headteacher with the leadership and management of the school. • Support whole school staff development through mentoring and coaching. • Provide safeguarding support as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding lead. • Establish strong working relationship with children, staff, parents and external stakeholders.
We are looking for an ambitious leader who is: • Passionate about Teaching and Learning and an outstanding practitioner • Ambitious, confident and enthusiastic • An experienced EYFS and Key Stage one practitioner • Experienced at leading a core area or phase of the curriculum • Demonstrates strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills • Able to motivate and inspire a team.
